Return to Sunshine

Inspired by Van Gogh’s Sunflower paintings, I wanted to finish the series with a bright and cheerful piece. I’ve always felt like a positive, sunny person, so I wanted to save this happy yellow painting for last. With the same textured technique used for “Dried Up”, I covered the canvas in swirling thick marks, which took a rather long time with such a small brush. I used sunflowers to represent to return of summer, freedom, and positivity. With this piece concluding the “Revival” series, I hope it conveys the return to my stronger and better self.
